Review: Funzze Cock Ring with Snail Clit Stimulator

What is the Funzze Cock Ring with Snail Clit Stimulator?

Most people with vulvas need clit stimulation to reach orgasm, of which PIV (penis-in-vagina sex) doesn’t provide much – or any! – which is the issue that many vibrating cock rings are designed to address, including this one.

However, this rechargeable Funzze ring stimulates the clit a bit differently than most other vibrating cock rings do. It vibrates, sure, but it’s also got an unusual snail-inspired curlicue design – similar to the one pioneered by SnailVibe – which (theoretically) allows the toy’s clit stimulator to unroll and re-roll with each thrust, maintaining clitoral contact regardless of how deeply or shallowly the penis or dildo has been inserted.

It’s made of silicone and ABS plastic, can run for an hour on a 2-hour-long charge, comes with a drawstring storage pouch, and retails for $30.

Things I like about the Funzze Cock Ring with Snail Clit Stimulator:

  • Inventive design: I’m always glad to see sex toy companies trying new solutions for age-old sex problems, and “not enough clit stim during PIV” is one of the most classic sex problems there is! I wish the snail-esque mechanism actually worked better (more on that below) but I’m glad Funzze tried it, at least.
  • Stretchy & seemingly comfortable: I wasn’t able to test this toy in a partnered-sex context, because of a mix of long-distance logistics + a recent breakup (🤪), so I unfortunately can’t speak to how it feels for the wearer, but it seems like it would be comfy enough. The two silicone straps are very stretchy and have no rough seams or sharp edges that I could detect. And while this cock ring certainly takes up more real estate along the shaft than a lot of others, it also leaves the head and frenulum totally exposed, so it shouldn’t affect sensitivity for the dick-wearer (beyond any desensitization they might incur from the buzzy vibrations, discussed below).
  • G-spot texture: The part of the toy that makes contact with the G-spot is mildly textured, for a little bit of extra sensation. It’s subtle, but my vag could definitely detect it, and I found it pleasurable.
  • Relatively quiet: It’s definitely not silent, but I found this toy’s noise output to be pretty minimal and unobjectionable. I think it would be muffled even further when pressed between two people’s bodies.
  • Affordable: $30 is a decent price for a rechargeable vibrating cock ring.

Things I don’t like about the Funzze Cock Ring with Snail Clit Stimulator:

  • “Snail” functionality doesn’t quite work: …at least, not for me! Your mileage may vary… I found that the clit stimulator on this ring has an overly floppy stem which prevents it from staying in consistent contact with the clit like it’s supposed to. More often, it just slides off to one side, or stays rolled up near the base of the dick. The original SnailVibe applied firm pressure to the clit, because it kind of has to, in order for its design to work – and that hasn’t been implemented here.
  • Buzzy vibrations: Sadly, this cock ring’s vibrations are very surface-level, high-pitched, and therefore prone to causing temporary desensitization after a few minutes. I was able to reach orgasm with this toy, but the vibrations felt almost incidental – I think most of the stimulation which got me off was instead from the motion/friction of thrusting, both internally and externally – and the orgasms were unsatisfying because I could barely feel my clit by the time they happened.
  • Not enough steady speeds: Pressing this cock ring’s one button allows you to cycle through its 9 vibration modes, which include 3 steady speeds and 6 patterns. I’m never really a pattern girlie, but especially not when it comes to cock rings, where rhythmic sensations are typically already being provided by the dick’s thrusting motion; I think steady vibration works best in that application, so it’s annoying that there’s only 3 steady settings.
  • Needs a lot of lube: As with other “snail”-type toys, the clit stimulator portion of this cock ring needs to be well-lubed (water-based only!) to do its job properly. Otherwise it doesn’t move smoothly against the clit with each thrust and instead skips and drags, which can be uncomfortable or at least much less pleasurable. You may need to reapply lube once or more during any given session, since most water-based lubes start to dry up after a few minutes.

Final thoughts

I think the Funzze Cock Ring with Snail Clit Stimulator is a cool concept for a toy, but it’s not particularly well-executed. In fact, this cock ring’s got me wanting to try SnailVibe’s own version, since I imagine they’re better at implementing their own proprietary technology, and their motors are much stronger and rumblier than those in this Funzze toy.

I just couldn’t quite get over the unsatisfyingly buzzy vibrations, the low number of steady speeds available, or the clit stimulator that tends to wander off instead of staying on target. For $30, it’s decent, but ultimately I think that if you want a great vibrating cock ring, it’d be better to save up for something with a strong, rumbly motor and a dependably well-reviewed design (my favorite remains the We-Vibe Pivot). I can’t deny that this Funzze ring got me off, but it’s so mid that it took me a long time to get there… almost like a snail trying to cross the road. 🐌
